Walkthrough

Gather 4 Metal Scraps by smashing metallic props in ruins like Longkeep, or by defeating Scavengers in Rookbrook.

Gather 7 String by destroying boxes and crates, or by crafting it from 3 Plant Fiber at your basic crafting menu (press 'V').

Gather 10 Shrouded Spores by looting creatures in shrouded areas, especially outside Longkeep or within the ruin itself. More spawn at night.

Craft the Grappling Hook at a workbench using the collected materials.

To unlock the Advanced Grappling Hook, progress through the quest 'The Alchemist's Rumors' until you reach the Hill of Scavengers, located northeast of the Ancient Spire in the Grasslands.

Defeat the Scavenger Gorger Matron boss at the top of the Hill of Scavengers.

Upon defeating the boss, you will automatically unlock the recipe for the Advanced Grappling Hook.

To craft the Advanced Grappling Hook, you need to have the Carpenter NPC at your base.

Gather the materials for the Advanced Grappling Hook: 1 Shroud Core, 2 Shroud Liquid, and 3 Shroud Spores.

Shroud Cores can be obtained by killing Shroud Mages in Tier 2 and Tier 3 Flame level Enshrouded locations, or by converting 10x Shroud Spores and 10x Shroud Liquid at the Alchemist.

Shroud Liquid is obtained by interacting with large white sacs in Shroud areas.

Shroud Spores are obtained by killing enemies resembling Bootstrap Bill Turner in Shrouded areas or at night.

Craft the Advanced Grappling Hook at the Carpenter's station.

Tips

For more Metal Scraps, consider running a dedicated Metal Scrap farm.
When fighting the Scavenger Gorger Matron, kite the boss to dodge its cone and line-shaped poison sprays. Use cold damage spells as they are effective against Gorgers.
If you need more Shrouded Spores, wait until nighttime when more Enshrouded creatures spawn.
You can fast travel back to your base using the 'R' key after gathering resources in shrouded areas.
The Carpenter NPC can be found by visiting the Ancient Vault southwest of the Low Meadows Spire.
