Learn how to unlock and master the Angler Life in FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time. Discover fishing mechanics, Sweet Spots, and essential early skills.
Walkthrough
- 1To unlock the Angler Life, go to Auntie Anne at the main Guild Hall and select the Angler Life. If this is not your first Life, you can skip the Novice Quest.
- 2After accepting the Novice Quest, "The Fish, Cat and Angler," find the Life Master, Gramps, in a small shack at the docks southeast of the Guild Hall.
- 3Gramps will send you to Sardino, located on the docks outside the shack.
- 4Your first task is to catch three Sardines. When you see a fish's shadow in the water, approach it and press the button prompt to cast your line.
- 5When the fish tugs the lure (lure goes under the surface), press the designated button to start reeling.
- 6A circle with a gauge on the left will appear, indicating your line's strength. Deplete the fish's health before the line gauge empties to catch it.
- 7Fishing consumes SP, so manage your SP levels.
Tips
- Sweet Spot: When reeling in a fish, look for damage numbers that are a different color and have "Sweet" underneath them. Hitting the Sweet Spot deals more damage and does not deplete the fishing line's gauge. SP is still consumed.
- Sweet Spot Search Skill: The "Sweet Spot Search" skill, available early in the Angler Tree, helps locate the Sweet Spot. A speech bubble with three dots indicates you should move to the opposite side. A question mark requires more searching. "!!" signifies the Sweet Spot. You can let go of the analog stick on the Sweet Spot to keep it in place.
- Excellent: To get an "Excellent," deal enough damage when finishing off the fish, often by using a strong skill like a fully charged normal reel. Excellents provide bonus rewards, such as an extra fish.
- Rod Pull I Skill: This skill allows you to hold down the reel button for a charged attack that uses SP but deals significant damage, aiding in achieving Excellents.
- High and Dry Skill: Unlocked at the Apprentice rank, this skill adds a gauge that fills up while fishing. When full, it unleashes a powerful skill.
