The Hunter Life in FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time is available from the beginning of the game. To unlock it, progress through the early story until you are prompted to choose a Life. After completing the Novice quest for your chosen Life, you can visit Auntie Anne at the Guild Hall in Eternia Village to select a new Life. If you have already chosen a Life once, you can skip the Novice quest for subsequent Lives without any downsides, aside from missing a brief tutorial.

Tips for Playing the Hunter:

The Hunter specializes in ranged combat using a bow and arrow. Their basic combo consists of two single arrow shots followed by a third attack that shoots a flurry of arrows. While the third attack hits multiple times, each individual arrow deals less damage than the initial shots. For example, the first two hits might deal 100 damage each, while the flurry arrows might deal 30 damage per arrow.

The strong attack involves jumping backward and firing a spread of arrows at the ground in front of you. This attack is generally not considered very effective and may not be used often. The primary function of the Hunter is to maintain distance from enemies while attacking.

The Hunter also has a charge attack, initiated by holding down the standard attack button. A target circle on the ground indicates when the attack is fully charged. This move offers a period of invulnerability during the attack animation (not during the charge-up) and deals significant damage. Once you unlock status effects via the Skill Board, you can apply them to enemies with this charge attack. However, it consumes a considerable amount of SP, preventing frequent use.

Additionally, the Hunter possesses an evade maneuver, distinct from the character's base dodge. Pressing R1/RB/R performs a quick twirl that allows you to disengage from enemies. This evade move is also useful for faster traversal across maps, appearing quicker than sprinting.

Best Hunter Skills:

At the start of the game, there are no standout skills for the Hunter. It is recommended to head south from the starting point to acquire ailment nodes, which can be beneficial and are often tied to challenges. The path to the right focuses on offensive skills, while the path to the left enhances defense and resistances. Following the path upwards and then to the right unlocks a Special Skill, which functions as an ultimate attack, providing a reliable source of free damage once its gauge is full. Further along this path, you will find upgrades that increase your critical hit rate.
