Shops

Every place you clear on the map gets its own shop. What's neat is that each shop has a different inventory, so you'll want to visit them all to snag the best weapons and items. Since your weapons wear down in battle, hitting up the shops regularly is key to keeping your units in top shape. Always compare the 'Might' stats on weapons – a stronger weapon can totally turn the tide of a tough fight. If a shop doesn't have what you need, don't sweat it, just hop to another one! You can also forge weapons here to make them even more powerful, though it'll cost you some Gold. You can even rename them, which is a fun little touch. Keep in mind not all weapons can be forged, but most can. Forging weapons that are super effective against certain enemies is a great strategy, as each point of Might you add can deal three extra damage to those weak foes!

Skirmishes

Sometimes, you'll see enemies called Risen pop up in areas you've already cleared. These are optional battles, and while you don't get specific rewards, the experience you gain is super valuable. If you're finding the main story a bit tough, jumping into a skirmish is a great way to level up your army and get them back up to speed. You can also force a skirmish to happen by using a 'Reeking Box' item, which you can buy from some shops. Just be careful not to overdo it with skirmishes, or the game might start feeling a little too easy!

Barracks

The Barracks is a cozy spot where you can see what your characters are up to when they're not on the battlefield. You'll find little events pop up here as time passes, and they often come with a nice bonus – maybe some experience points, a new item, a temporary stat boost, or even improved relationships between your units. It's definitely worth checking in when you have a moment. You can also view character profiles here, which is super handy if you're trying to decide who to bring into your next battle.

Outrealm Gate

After you finish Chapter 4 of the main story, you'll unlock the Outrealm Gate, located in the south-east part of the map. Traveling to these other realms usually costs some Gold. This is where you can buy and play all the game's DLC missions. While the DLC doesn't tie into the main story, it's a fun distraction and can offer some really cool rewards, like exclusive legacy characters, new classes, and skills. Plus, once you buy a mission, you can replay it as many times as you like, which is perfect for extra training.
