Learn how to recruit Yen'fay and defeat the Risen Chief in Sidequest 21: Ghost of a Blade for Fire Emblem: Awakening. Get tips for this challenging map!
Walkthrough
- 1Map Start: You begin on a fairly enclosed map. The goal is to reach and recruit Yen'fay, who is an NPC on your side initially, and then defeat the Risen Chief boss.
- 2Recruiting Yen'fay: Your top priority is to get Say'ri to Yen'fay as soon as possible. He's an NPC unit that can be recruited by talking to him with Say'ri. If you don't reach him quickly, he might move on his own and potentially get himself defeated, which would be a major setback. He will also come to you if there are enemies nearby, so try to lure some enemies closer to your starting position to draw him in if Say'ri can't reach him immediately. Once Say'ri talks to him, Yen'fay becomes a playable unit under your command.
- 3Clearing the Map: After Yen'fay is secured, the map becomes a steady march north towards the boss. The map is filled with high Speed and Skill enemies like Swordmasters, Assassins, Heroes, and Tricksters. They hit hard and can double-attack many units.
- 4Boss Fight: The boss is a Risen Chief, a Swordmaster at Level 20. He wields the Sol Katti. While he's the main threat, the real challenge often comes from the surrounding high-level enemies.
Tips
- Unit Composition: Since there are no magic users on this map, prioritize units with high Defense and Speed. Generals are excellent here, especially when paired with a speedy unit. Units that can resist or evade physical attacks will perform best.
- Say'ri is Key: Make sure Say'ri is alive and well before starting this map. She is the *only* unit capable of recruiting Yen'fay.
- Yen'fay's Role: Once recruited, Yen'fay is a powerful Swordmaster unit that can help significantly in clearing the map and defeating the boss.
- Group Up: Keep your units grouped together. This helps with support bonuses and makes it easier to manage enemy threats. A well-balanced, grouped army can clear this map with relative ease once Yen'fay is recruited.
- Enemy Positions: Be aware that Yen'fay might rush towards enemies if they are close. Use this to your advantage to draw him closer to Say'ri if needed, but be ready to protect him.
- Recruiting Yen'fay, a powerful Swordmaster unit.
- Experience and potential item drops from defeating the Risen Chief and other enemies.
