The COG Pistol is the standard issue sidearm in Gears of War 3. By default, it fires a single shot, but you can increase its rate of fire by rapidly tapping RT (the right trigger). This weapon is most effective in multiplayer for finishing off opponents who are close to death, such as an annoying Grenadier Elite player that won't go down.

As expected for a pistol, it is the weakest weapon in the game. In campaign or horde modes, you can pick up ammo boxes. However, online, you often won't find much ammo for it because other players rarely use it. If you conserve ammo, you may not need to use this gun often, as you have stronger options like the Lancer, Hammerburst, or Retro Lancer for applying pressure.
