Master Part 91 of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Learn how to complete Fast Tracks and HoboTron side-missions with expert tips and strategies.

Alright, let's dive into Part 91 of our Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars adventure. This section covers a couple of interesting side-missions: Fast Tracks and HoboTron. We'll get you through these with no sweat.

Fast Tracks

To kick off Fast Tracks, you'll need to head over to Francis International Airport. From Rob [FIA-D69], make your way northeast, past the wall corner, and then angle north. When you reach the gate for the road, hang a right instead of going through it. You'll soon find a large building with a Rhino tank parked outside. Hop in, and the mission begins!

This isn't just a race; it's a checkpoint race with target destruction. Your main goal is to shave as much time as possible off the clock to snag those Medals. As you zip between checkpoints, keep an eye out for targets marked as red dots on your map. Smashing one of these will shave five seconds off your timer. Later on, you'll see some friendly blue targets – hitting these adds ten seconds back, so use them wisely.

To get a Bronze Medal, you need to finish in under forty seconds. For Silver, aim for under twenty seconds. And if you're feeling ambitious, Gold requires finishing in under five seconds. The good news is, there's no specific reward for Gold, so Bronze is perfectly fine to complete the mission. You'll still get paid for each Medal you earn:

  • Bronze: $50
  • Silver: $100
  • Gold: $200

Now, about driving the Rhino: it's a bit of a slow beast. You can use the tank icon on the Touch Screen to aim and fire the turret. However, for this mission, it's actually better to use the alternate controls: hold down the L Button while using the D-Pad (on NDS) or Analog Stick (on PSP) to aim, and then hit the A Button (NDS) or Circle Button (PSP) to fire. It gives you more precise control while moving.

There aren't any real shortcuts here. You'll need to spend a bit of time memorizing the course and practicing your aiming and firing while going as fast as you can. It sounds tough, but honestly, getting a Gold Medal isn't too difficult once you get the hang of it.

Don't stress about hitting every single target. About a third of the way through, right after the fuel depot, you'll see a pair of cars – one blue, one red. Ignore them! If you try to blow up the red car, you'll take out both, and that comes with a five-second penalty. That's not what we want.

At the very end of the course, there are two targets worth mentioning. One car will drive away from you, and you can actually hit it without seeing it if you fire when it pops up on your radar. The second car is just sitting there near the finish line. If you're aiming for Gold, make sure you hit both of these before you cross the finish marker.

During my own Gold Medal run, I managed to hit every target, but I did pick up a ten-second penalty for accidentally blowing up a blue car. However, because I drove well and hit every red car (except the one I wisely left alone), I still finished with four seconds to spare. So, it's definitely doable!

HoboTron

Next up is HoboTron. To find this side-mission, head to the Cemetery located north of Colony Island. Right in the center of the Cemetery, you'll find a marker. Step into it, and you'll start HoboTron, where you have to survive six intense rounds against waves of people.

Here's the deal: when this mission starts, you'll be stripped of all your weapons. Don't worry, though – you'll get full Health and Body Armor that's only good for this mission, kind of like in Rampages. If your Health and Body Armor get low, the game will conveniently spawn more for you. Any upgrades you've earned up to this point will definitely make this mission a bit easier.

You'll also be given three Time Bombs. I personally found them a bit unnecessary, but hey, you've got 'em if you need 'em.

As you progress, the game will start spawning weapons for you to use. Most of these will only have sixty rounds (the Shotgun gets twenty), and you can't grab more ammo for a weapon until you've completely run out of the current one. So, choose wisely!

When you first start, it's actually best to just use your fists until you get your hands on some better weapons that spawn later. There's a large rock in the southeast corner of the Cemetery that's perfect for using as cover and funneling enemies towards you. This way, you can take them out quickly with punches.

Starting from Level 3, some enemies will be carrying Swords. These guys are dangerous, so try to avoid them if you can. Your best bet is to run to one end of the Cemetery, get all the enemies to chase you as a group, and then unleash your weapons on them. Keep an eye out for new weapons spawning and grab them whenever you can.

As you get closer to the end of the mission, some enemies will start wielding Molotovs. If you shoot these guys, they'll explode, taking out anyone nearby. It's best to take them out from a distance. Even better, their explosions can chain react and set other enemies on fire if they run into a Molotov-carrying enemy. Pretty neat, right?

Every time you take down an enemy, they'll drop some cash, anywhere from one to twenty dollars. Your overall score at the end is based on your earnings.
