Complete guide to Part 93 of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, covering multiple course time trials, vehicle locations, and strategies for achieving Gold medals.

Listed in this sub-chapter are the five multiple course time trial races. Each of these multi-lap races have more than one course to complete, up to four. You must successfully acquire a Bronze Medal in one course before the next course can be unlocked.

In addition, unlike the single course races, you will get paid money for Medal acquisition which is dependent on the course. Some courses pay more for Medals than others.

Also, by acquiring a Bronze Medal in all the courses of all four Time Trials you will unlock the Cityscape at Auto Merchant.

Unlike the Single Course races the Time Trial races use the same arrow based markers you encountered in Fast Tracks. However, since you will be going much faster than the Rhino, you will find that these markers are deceptively easy to miss. The way that the marker pulses inward gives it the illusion of being larger than what they really are.

Although you can do a powerslide through the turns I find that in most cases it is better to rapidly tap the Acceleration Button to slow yourself just enough to go through the turn without losing too much speed.

There is also one big annoyance concerning the time trials: the course selection screen. Whenever you return to the course selection screen, whether you successfully finish a course or quit, it will always default to the last unlocked course.

For example, if you are trying to get a Gold Medal in Course 2 and you unlocked all of the courses then you will have to manually go back to Course 2 every single time instead of it just staying on the course that you want to improve on. And, if you're getting pissed on that course, y

Hellenbach

Head north then turn right at the next three-way intersection. Proceed east all the way to the next four-way intersection then stop. The Hellenbach can be found behind the wall at the southeast corner of this intersection.

  • Time: Bronze - 1:00 and under. Silver - 0:55 and under. Gold - 0:50 and under.
  • Notes: This course winds through the narrow streets of southern Bohan. Because of these roads the traffic play a major role in success. The hardest part of the course are the checkpoints by the cranes at the south part of the course. You need to powerslide to quickly go around the wall in that area.

Graveyard Groove

  • Neighborhood: Steinway (Dukes).
  • Map: (D-2).
  • Directions: Go to the Cemetery at the northwest corner of Steinway. You should find the Hearse in the small parking area by the three-way intersection at the southwest part of the Cemetery.
  • Time: Bronze - 1:05 and under. Silver - 1:00 and under. Gold - 0:55 and under.
  • Notes: This course winds through the Cemetery, through the woods outside, and through Gantry Park. Going through the Cemetery is hard because of the narrow path. The wooded area is also difficult because of the trees and rocks. For the two markers on opposite sides of the large tree near the end of the course - tag one of the markers then quickly back up and go forward through the second.

Monument Mania

  • Neighborhood: Outlook Park (Broker).
  • Map: (E-4).
  • Directions: Inside Outlook Park near the north central gate is where you should find the Angel.
  • Time: Bronze - 1:00 and under. Silver - 0:55 and under. Gold - 0:50 and under.
  • Notes: This is a very easy course to get Gold on. The Angel is a crap vehicle but, even if you take it nice and slow, you can still finish the course in about 45 seconds on your first completion. Hell, even if you screw up a lot you can still get Gold.

Beach Blitz

  • Neighborhood: Beach Gate (Broker).
  • Map: (E-5).
  • Directions: Go to the three-way intersection northwest of Camera [BGT-SC100]. At the northeast corner of this intersection is a large house. At the east side of this house is a small parking area where Sabre GT can be found.
  • Time: Bronze - 0:45 and under. Silver - 0:40 and under. Gold - 0:35 and under.
  • Notes: This course goes through the Beach Gate and carnival area. As you exit the Beach Gate area you will go past some transformers. There is a small rock by them that can stop you or knock you off course. After that there are some trees that you need to avoid as you enter a narrow alley. Another hard area is the last three markers leading into the gazebo area to end the course. You need to do a quick right then a quick left to enter this area and screwing it up will cost you a Medal.
