Learn how to farm Quicksilver in No Man's Sky by completing Nexus missions and finding Stellar Ice, then spend it on unique items from the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion.
Alright, so you've probably noticed there's this special currency in No Man's Sky called Quicksilver, and it's not like your usual Units. It feels like something you'd have to pull out your credit card for, right? Well, surprise! You actually earn it all in-game. Pretty sweet deal!
Quicksilver lets you snag some really cool, unique stuff that you can't get with regular Units. Think statues for your starship that might even give you a little stat boost, or other neat customizations. It's not super easy to get a ton of it quickly, so you'll want to be a bit strategic about farming it if you're eyeing a specific item.
Where to Find Quicksilver
Your main hub for all things Quicksilver is The Anomaly. When you first start out and do those initial missions, you'll get some from Nada. Keep an eye on your HUD; you'll see your Quicksilver total pop up next to your Units and Nanites.
The real grind for Quicksilver happens at The Nexus, which is on the same deck as where you park your ship in The Anomaly. Here, you can pick up missions that offer Quicksilver as a reward. You can usually do one mission a day that gives you 250 Quicksilver. If you miss a day, don't sweat it – you can stack up to three of these daily missions. For a bigger haul, look out for weekend missions, which can net you around 1200 Quicksilver. It's a bit like collecting arcade tickets; you need a bunch to get the prize you want!
Keep your eyes peeled while you're flying around The Anomaly, too. Sometimes, you might stumble upon pink asteroid fields called Stellar Ice. If you see them, farm away! There's a chance these asteroids will drop about 100 Quicksilver.
Spending Your Hard-Earned Quicksilver
So, you've got your Quicksilver, now what? Just like where you get it, you'll spend it at The Anomaly. Look for an NPC called the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion, or 'Quincy' as most people call him. He's usually chilling near the ramp leading up from The Nexus area.
Quincy is your guy for buying all those unique items. He's also where you'll claim any Expedition rewards or Twitch Drops you might have earned.
