How to use the Analysis Visor

Alright, so you've got your Multi-Tool and you're ready to start cataloging the galaxy. First things first, you actually need to craft the Analysis Visor. Don't worry, the blueprint is there from the start!

To craft it, you'll need to make a Carbon Nanotube. Here's the recipe:

Once that's done, you'll slot it right into your Multi-Tool. Now, let's get to using it!

How to Use the Analysis Visor

Here are the keybindings you'll need to know to activate and use the visor. Remember, you have to hold the key down to keep it active:

Once the visor is up and you're looking through the HUD, you can zoom in even further, up to two additional times. Here's how:

With the visor active, you can now scan pretty much anything you see on the horizon – rocks, plants, animals, you name it. Every new discovery nets you some Units, which is a nice little bonus for just exploring!

But that's not all! The Analysis Visor is also super handy for finding Buried Tech. If you see something interesting you want to mark, you can Tag it. This puts a marker on your screen, making it way easier to navigate to specific spots, especially for things like Buried Technology Modules or big mineral deposits.

What Else Can the Analysis Visor Scan?

You'll find the Analysis Visor is a lifesaver in Space Stations too, especially if you're looking to buy, trade, or scrap ships. Instead of talking to every single pilot and clicking through menus just to find out a ship's class, you can just whip out your visor. Look at the ship you're interested in, and its Class information will pop right up on your HUD. This lets you quickly scan a whole row of ships and pick out the one you want to pursue, without some pilot with a C-Class Shuttle zipping away while you're busy chatting with someone else!
