Equipment in Phasmophobia is crucial for identifying ghost types and completing objectives. Players earn money from investigations to purchase a variety of tools. This guide covers the mechanics of equipment, detailing starter, optional, and truck-based items, along with their costs and functions.

Mechanics

Equipment can be bought and sold in the Shop while in the lobby. If a player dies, they lose all equipment brought into the mission, except for the default starter gear. Surviving players automatically retain their equipment. Consumable items like incense and sanity medication must be repurchased if used, even if the player survives. Players can store up to 999 of each item. Electronic equipment is disrupted by ghosts when they are visible, and holding active electronic gear during a hunt can attract ghosts.

There are three main categories of equipment:

  • Starter equipment
  • Optional equipment
  • Truck equipment
