Durgan's Battery

Complete walkthrough for Durgan's Battery in Pillars of Eternity, including quest steps, item locations, and strategies for defeating enemies and overcoming challenges.

Walkthrough:

1. Upon arriving at the eastern gate of Stalwart Village, defeat the three Crag Ogres attacking villagers.
2. Proceed through the village, eliminating additional Crag Ogres and Winter Wolves.
3. At the western gate, confront and defeat Warleader Darzir and his ogre and Winter Wolf allies. After his defeat, the ogres will retreat, and a villager will ask you to speak with Renengild.
4. Before speaking to Renengild, investigate a burning building near the Russetwood Gate. A Druid, Wizard (Chill Fog), or Chanter (Rime and Frost...) is recommended. Ensure your character has Constitution 12 (use food if needed), Athletics 4, and Survival 5 (or use a Rite scroll). Interact with the door to trigger a scripted sequence.
5. Send your best candidate to handle the situation. Survival 5 is ideal to avoid damage.
6. At the next screen, choose "Run Past" if you have Perception 14 or Dexterity 18. Otherwise, select "Wait for the beam to fall."
7. On the subsequent screen, examine the situation to the left and cast the appropriate spell to extinguish the flames. If you cannot, the man cannot be saved.
8. Turn to help the woman. You can steal her ring, the Frigid Claim, but you will take damage. If your Might is below 20, use a prybar. Carry her out (requires Athletics 4 and Constitution 12).
9. Search Darzir's remains for the Ring of Changing Heart.
10. Go to Renengild's House in the center of the village and enter. You will find Renengild arguing with a villager named Uldric.
11. Engage in conversation with Renengild. She explains her desire to restart the White Forge to revitalize White March but notes the difficulty in accessing Durgan's Battery. She mentions that the immediate priority is stopping the ogre attacks and that a man named 'Mestre' Galvino, living near Durgan's Battery, has extensive knowledge of the place. Uldric suggests that the ogres are led by a Matron named Beregan and that she might be reasoned with. Exiting this conversation initiates two new quests: The Ogre Matron and The Recluse of the White March.
12. Exit Renengild's house and you will encounter Tealdor.
13. Tealdor asks you to retrieve a thermal pearl from Longwatch Falls, warning of lagufaeth guarding it. He suggests visiting Thyrsc's place beforehand and mentions
