While many players focus on the starter Pokémon or those associated with powerful legendary figures, optimizing your army with Pokémon that synergize with specific Warlord types and abilities can lead to unexpected dominance. Consider Warlords like Mitsunari Ishida, whose "Swift" ability grants a 10% movement boost to his Pokémon. Pairing him with Pokémon that have naturally high movement ranges, such as Rapidash or Dodrio, allows for rapid map control and flanking maneuvers. Rapidash, with its Fire-type STAB and access to moves like Flame Charge, can quickly engage and disengage from threats, while Dodrio’s Normal/Flying typing offers a unique offensive and defensive profile. Another example is Warlords who benefit from status conditions. For instance, a Warlord with an ability that increases the chance of inflicting status effects when their Pokémon use a move could pair exceptionally well with a Pokémon like Gengar. Gengar's Ghost/Poison typing and access to moves like Hypnosis and Will-O-Wisp can cripple enemy formations. The key is to identify a Warlord's innate strengths and then select Pokémon that amplify those strengths, rather than simply picking the strongest individual units.
