Learn about the core objectives and strategic elements of Pokémon Conquest, focusing on Nobunaga's ambition to unite Ransei and conquer all kingdoms.
Walkthrough
- 1Unification Stage: Plan your party's movements on a stylized map of Japan. Each character has one action per turn (one month). A maximum of six characters can be stationed in a castle. You can transport troops or let the AI manage actions for conquered castles, but the protagonist and their castle always require manual attention.
- 2Battle Stage: When a battle is initiated, it takes place on a 2D square grid. Characters command their Pokémon to fight. Up to six generals/Pokémon can fight per side.
- 3Warrior Skills: Use special abilities called "Warrior Skills" once per battle to aid your Pokémon.
- 4Pokémon Links: Build compatibility ("Link") with Pokémon by visiting castle towns or fighting wild Pokémon. Tame wild Pokémon in a mini-game sequence to obtain multiple Links. Link compatibility is shown as bronze, silver, or gold medals; an X means no Link is possible. Each character has a "Best Link Pokémon" that can reach 100% linkage.
- 5Evolution: Pokémon can evolve, and some require Evolutionary Stones. Characters can also change appearance based on their Link percentage with their Pokémon partner. The protagonist has three forms based on strength, and warlords have multiple ranks.
- 6Battle Mechanics: Pokémon elemental weaknesses and special abilities from the main series apply. Use special abilities strategically. Group attacks can harm allies and enemies. Utilize stage gimmicks, treasures, and bonuses to win.
- 7Energy: A Pokémon's performance is affected by its Energy level (willpower). Bright red-orange indicates best performance, dark blue means tired. Low energy can be restored by resting or eating ponigiri.
