Special Event Battles in Pokémon Conquest are unique encounters that often deviate from the standard gameplay loop. These battles can be tied to specific story progressions, unlockable content, or even timed in-game events. They frequently present more challenging scenarios, requiring a deeper understanding of game mechanics and a well-prepared army. Successfully navigating these events is often key to unlocking powerful Warriors, rare Pokémon, or significant story advancements.

One common type of Special Event Battle involves defending a specific location, such as the defense of a castle in the Grass Kingdom against an invading force. These battles often have a limited number of turns or require you to protect a specific point on the map. For instance, you might need to prevent enemy Warriors from reaching your main castle within 15 turns. This necessitates a strong defensive line and efficient use of area-of-effect (AoE) moves like Earthquake or Rock Slide to control enemy movement and inflict damage on multiple targets simultaneously.

Another type of Special Event Battle might involve a boss encounter with a particularly powerful Warrior and their Pokémon. These bosses often have high stats, unique Warrior Skills, and powerful moves. For example, a battle against a Warrior like Nobunaga Oda might feature his signature Pokémon, which could have an ability like Intimidate, lowering your Pokémon's Attack upon entry. To counter this, you might need to bring Pokémon with abilities like Guts or use items that prevent stat reduction.

Special Event Battles can also introduce unique objectives. Instead of simply defeating all enemies, you might be tasked with capturing a specific Pokémon or escorting a friendly unit to a designated safe zone. These objectives require careful positioning and a flexible strategy. If the objective is to capture a specific Pokémon, you'll want to use moves that don't cause excessive damage, such as False Swipe, and have Warriors with high Link to ensure a successful capture.

Preparation is paramount for Special Event Battles. Before diving in, review the types of Pokémon and Warriors you expect to face. If you anticipate facing many Fire-type Pokémon, ensure you have strong Water or Ground-type Pokémon ready. Consider equipping Warriors with items that provide resistances or stat boosts. For example, if a Special Event Battle in the Water Kingdom is known for its strong Water-type Pokémon, equipping your Warriors with Water Gems can significantly reduce incoming damage from their STAB moves.
