Your guide to the Assembly Line in Quake IV. Learn how to grab the powerful Lightning Gun and activate the Stroyent Filling Control to complete Sasaki's request.
Alright, let's get through this assembly line and make our way to the control room. Sasaki's got your back while you push forward.
First things first, find the door at the back of this room and head through it. You'll immediately run into some resistance: four Strogg Marines, followed by a Grunt, and then three more Marines with a Gunner. This is a great spot to test out those new seeker nails you picked up, so give 'em a whirl if you want. Keep pushing down the room and go up the stairs at the end. This will take you to the upper level where you'll face a Berserker and another Strogg Marine. Grab the SHELLS and the SMALL HEALTH PACK nearby before moving on to the next area.
Things get interesting here. You'll see Sergeant Jarlsberg of Viper Squad being tortured with what looks like a prototype Lightning Gun. A new gun, you say? Perfect! Take a moment to look around the room for some GRENADES and two LIGHTNING COILS. Once you've got those, check out the computer screens. You'll see an option to click "Halt Trial." Do that, and boom – the LIGHTNING GUN is officially yours!

| This weapon is a blast. Its lightning beam can melt most enemies at medium range in seconds. Be warned, though: tougher enemies will take longer to fry, chewing through your ammo. It's best saved for weaker foes, especially once you get the chain lightning mod. | |||
| UPGRADE | Chain Lightning Mod: Allows the lightning beam to hit nearby enemies as well, damaging multiple targets. Obtained in "Tram Hub Station". | ||

Sadly, Jarlsberg didn't make it. Oh well. Leave him be and circle around the room through the next door. Follow the hallway, and you can use your new Lightning Gun to zap a couple of Strogg Marines. It might feel like a bit of a waste of ammo, but hey, you gotta try out your new toy at least once, right? Further down the hall, you'll encounter two more Strogg Marines and a Grunt. You'll also find two boxes of NAILS, a SMALL ARMOR VEST, and a HEALTH STATION. There's a SMALL HEALTH PACK just a bit further ahead if you're running low. Head through the door near the health station, and you'll finally be in the control room you were looking for.
Inside, you'll find some BATTERIES and three ARMOR SHARDS. The main thing here is the panel labeled "Stroyent Filling Control." Interact with it and click "Activate Barrel Process" to finish up Sasaki's request.
