Walkthrough for Quake IV's 'You must locate and destroy the Nexus' mission. Includes enemy encounters, item locations, and strategic tips for navigating the security station and elevator.

Walkthrough:

  1. Proceed into the next room and down the hallway towards a doorway. The door will lock as you approach, triggering a trap.
  2. A Light Tank and several Tactical Transfers will attack. Use the Nailgun for the Light Tank and closest Transfers, then switch weapons to defeat the remaining enemies.
  3. Run back through the door where the enemies emerged to find a security station. Click the "Disable Security" button to unlock the door ahead.
  4. Head back down the hallway and through the now-unlocked door. Turn around and follow the hallway to find a HEALTH STATION, ROCKETS, three LIGHTNING COILS, two CLIPS, lots of NAILS, and a SMALL ARMOR VEST.
  5. Go through the door on the left. You will face a Strogg Marine, two Tactical Transfers, and a Light Tank emerging from an elevator. The Nailgun or Rocket Launcher are effective here. Defeat them quickly, ideally before the elevator reaches the bottom.
  6. Go downstairs and step onto the large elevator. Grab the two SMALL HEALTH PACKS if needed.
  7. As the elevator descends, Strogg Marines will begin jumping through windows and attacking. Defeat approximately nine of them using the Machinegun or Shotgun.
  8. Upon reaching the bottom, a Gladiator and two Iron Maidens will attack, along with a couple of Tactical Transfers. Use the Dark Matter Gun, Lightning Gun, Nailgun, or Hyperblaster to defeat them.
  9. Nearby, you will find GRENADES, BATTERIES, DARK MATTER CORES, and two SMALL HEALTH PACKS.
  10. Head downstairs to find more supplies: BATTERIES, ROCKETS, SLUGS, CLIPS, SHELLS, and ARMOR SHARDS.
  11. Exit this room through the nearby door. You will immediately face a Teleport Dropper. Defeat it quickly with the Nailgun or another powerful weapon.
  12. A HEALTH STATION is available in this room. You will mysteriously receive a new mission objective:
