Quake IV: Escort Strauss to Emergency Shutoff

Alright, we've got a critical mission: get Strauss to the Emergency Shutoff Controls. This is going to involve some backtracking and a few tough fights, so stay sharp!

Walkthrough

Right after you get control, a Gladiator is going to barge in. Don't worry about Strauss, he'll stay behind cover. Just focus on taking down that Gladiator with your Nailgun or Hyperblaster. Once it's down, we need to head back to the Tetranode room.

On your way back to the Tetranode, expect to run into a couple of Strogg Marines, a Berserker, and a Sentry. Nothing you haven't handled before, so just clear them out.

When you reach the Tetranode room, you'll see the door at the far end is now unlocked. Make your way towards it, but be ready for two Strogg Marines to pop out of it. Take them down quickly.

This door leads to a short hallway, which then opens into a much longer one. Push through this, and you'll face a Strogg Marine, a Grunt, and a Gunner.

After that fight, look to your right near a window. You'll find some ammo: a CLIP, SHELLS, and a SMALL HEALTH PACK. Grab them, then head into the large room ahead.

This next area is a bit tougher. You'll face a Strogg Marine, a Grunt, and a Gladiator. Prioritize the smaller enemies first, then focus on the Gladiator with your Hyperblaster if you have it. If you take a beating, there are SHELLS and two LARGE HEALTH PACKS in a corner of this room.

Climb the stairs in the room, turn left, and go through the door. You'll find a LARGE HEALTH PACK and a SMALL ARMOR VEST. If you don't need those, head right instead and follow the hallway.

You'll encounter a Grunt, followed by two Strogg Marines and another Grunt. The Shotgun is your best friend in these close quarters, so use it to clear them out.

Keep going to the end of this hallway. On the right side, you'll find three CLIPS. Take a left and follow the path until you see another hallway on your right. There's a LARGE HEALTH PACK and some SHELLS near some barrels here, so grab them if you need them.

If you took that right path, you'll soon reach a lift. Ride it up – it's surprisingly fast! – and enter the control room. This is where Strauss can initiate the emergency shutoff. Mission accomplished!
