Guide your squadmate Strauss through enemy-infested corridors in Quake IV. Learn enemy weaknesses and strategies to protect him from Strogg Sentries.

Alright, so you're in Quake IV and you've got a buddy, Strauss, who needs your help. First things first, wait for Strauss to unlock a door – don't try to force it. Head through there, and try not to think too much about those creepy dudes hooked up to machines. Just keep moving through the next door.

You'll enter a big, dark room. Don't worry, it won't stay dark for long. A Gladiator is going to drop down right in the middle. This guy's a bit of a show-off, so whip out your Nailgun and make sure he focuses on you, not Strauss. Once you've dealt with the Gladiator, a couple of Strogg Marines will show up. After the dust settles, have Strauss patch up your armor. Then, make your way to the far end of the room and go through the door.

Follow the hallway, and you'll hit another door. This one's guarded by some Strogg Marines and a Grunt. After you clear them out, backtrack a bit in this room to find the temperature controls. You'll also find some SHELLS and a SMALL HEALTH PACK nearby. Grab 'em, but don't get too comfortable, because as Strauss starts fiddling with the controls, you'll need to defend him from some Strogg SENTRIES.

Enemy Spotlight: SENTRY

These guys are pretty easy to spot. They hover, have machine guns for arms, and a bright green tank at their base. Honestly, they're not too tough compared to other Strogg you've met. They don't have a lot of health and their machine guns don't hit super hard, but don't underestimate them, especially when they swarm you.

• Recommended Weapons: Pretty much anything works since they're fragile. The Machinegun, Shotgun, or Lightning Gun are great choices. The Lightning Gun can take one out in literally a second.
• Weak Point: Aim for the green tank at their base – it deals extra damage!
• Tactic: They like to circle-strafe, so try to keep your distance and pick them off.

Your main objective here is to kill all five Sentries before they can take down Strauss (or you!). Make good use of the cover in the room; their machine gun fire can be pretty relentless if you're out in the open. Your Machinegun or Shotgun should do the trick here. Just keep Strauss alive, and you'll complete the objective!
