Uncover the secrets of Rue Valley's Ancient Ruins in this comprehensive walkthrough. Learn about objectives, tips, and rewards to guide your exploration.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin by defining your character's personality using 9 points. Different traits unlock unique dialogue options and can affect your ability to pass 'Checks' like persuasion.
- 2Wake up and speak with Dr. Finck. Dialogue choices here do not impact progression.
- 3Exit the office and attempt to speak with the woman by the vending machine; your 'Total Lack of Motivation' status will prevent interaction.
- 4Enter the motel reception and speak with Robin. Passing a Social Check (requiring 1 point in Extraverted) is necessary to get your room's key card. Dialogue choices with Robin do not matter at this stage.
- 5Go to your room. Interact with the suitcase; your character may put it away, allowing you to sit on the bed or chair. Time will pass, triggering a phone call. Dialogue choices for the call are inconsequential.
- 6Review your 'memories' by clicking on the icons.
- 7Experience a dream sequence that offers insight into your character's background.
- 8After the dream, an icon will appear, offering a 'Hold to Recall' option, which is currently unavailable.
- 9Exit your room and witness a truck hitting a transformer.
- 10Achievement: Tap Out!: Before proceeding, go to your room's bathroom and drink from the tap to unlock this achievement.
- 11Go downstairs and interact with the vending machine. Press the 'reddish button' to obtain a bottle of water and drink it to remove the 'Thirsty' status.
- 12The sky will turn red, and explosions will occur, leading you back to Dr. Finck's office. He will give you a Purple Pill.
- 13Repeat the process of getting your key card and checking into your room. Attempt to put the suitcase away again; your character will resist. Take the purple pill or not, then sit in the chair to pass time. You will receive the same phone call as before.
- 14Pass time until you can review your memories again, which will present your first Intention.
- 15Commit to the 'Memory or Fantasy?' Intention. You will initially be unable to due to a lack of Willpower. Take the pill to lose the 'Anxious Apprehension' status and gain 1 Inspiration (equivalent to Willpower), allowing you to commit to Intentions.
- 16Go outside and investigate the transformer that was hit. Select all dialogue options to complete the Intention. The sky will turn red again, signaling the end of the loop.
- 17After speaking with Dr. Finck, open your memories, select the Intention, and 'Hold to Wrap Up' to gain 1 Inspiration.
- 18Outside Dr. Finck's office, you will unlock an Intention to leave. Commit to it and interact with your car. You will fail to leave and return to Dr. Finck's office.
- 19A dialogue option related to leaving will appear. Attempting to leave again triggers a Decisional Check. If you have Calculated +1, you regain control; otherwise, you lose control. You gain 2 Inspiration regardless.
- 20The intention will fail, but you will unlock the achievement: The Escape Failed Successfully. Select the Intention again and 'Hold to Give up'.
- 21Free Roaming: Talk to the woman hitting the vending machine again to gain the Fix Vending Machine Intention. Commit to it via your memories.
- 22Speak to the woman again and select 'Maybe I can help?'. Attempt and fail to fix the vending machine, then 'give up'.
- 23Go to the motel reception and speak to Robin. Select the vending machine-related dialogue option to learn how to fix it.
- 24If the clock is 8:07 or earlier, give Riley (the woman) a coffee to complete the Intention and earn 3 Inspiration. You will learn her name is Riley and gain memories of Robin, Ben Fleming, and Coral Destiny. Update the Rocket Launch memory by asking if she's watching.
- 25Go to your room's second-floor door (left of yours) to interact and gain the The Stocky Man Memory.
- 26Speak to Robin again about the time loop and Ben Fleming. The 'Stocky Man' (Jason Burns) will arrive at 8:12. Speak to Robin afterwards to learn his name and backstory.
- 27Driving South - Max Gas: Drive south to Max Gas. Interact with the camera to the left of the store to unlock the Reality Show Intention.
- 28Enter Max Gas. Talk to Max (Maxine Kay) and potentially Riley. Listening to them updates memories like 'Careless Driver', 'Max Gas Lady', and 'Where's Walter?'.
- 29Ask Max about Jason Burns to update her and Jason's memories. Interact with the Kitty Poster for 1 Inspiration.
- 30Select dialogue options related to the Time Loop and Reality TV Intentions.
- 31Use your phone to ask about Walter Kay. Consider using your phone to pass time and restart the loop. You need 5 Willpower/Inspiration to recall the dream before the loop restarts.
- 32Next Loop: In Dr. Finck's office, ask about Coral Destiny and engage with the Reality Show Intention options.
- 33Go outside and give Riley coffee again. You can ask Riley about Co... (text cuts off)
