Alright, let's talk about Arcane Spellcasters in Shadows of Doubt. These guys are your go-to for dealing with enemies from a distance using magic, and they're also great at buffing you and your buddies. Don't expect them to be much help in a straight-up fistfight, though – their real power is in their spells!

When you start out, your spellcaster gets one weapon proficiency point. You'll earn more as you level up, specifically at levels 6, 12, and 18, so keep that in mind for your build.

Saving Throws

High Level Abilities (HLAs)

At really high levels, you unlock Epic spells. Just a heads-up, multiclass Mages won't get access to the 9th-level spell slots needed for these until they hit 6,000,000 XP, and some triple-class characters might never get them. The good news is that Mages can also pick up extra 6th, 7th, and 8th-level spell slots as HLAs, which don't have that 9th-level slot requirement. So, even if you're not a pure Mage, you can still get some awesome high-level magic!
