Wilderness Areas

Discover the secrets of Shadows of Doubt's Wilderness Areas: Small Teeth Pass, North Forest, and Forest of Tethir. Find loot, face enemies, and uncover hidden quests.

After emerging from the Underdark, three new locations appear on the world map: Small Teeth Pass, North Forest, and Forest of Tethir. These areas offer various encounters and loot.

Small Teeth Pass

• During the day, encounter low-level Orcs. At night, encounter Wolfweres.
• In the southwest corner, find ancient ruins with three Ankhegs, from which Ankheg Plate Armor can be made.

North Forest

• South of the starting point is a stone circle with a locked stone coffin containing gems and scrolls.
• Southwest of the stone circle is an evil party: a Priest of Cyric, a Mage and his familiar, an Archer, a Thief, two Fighters, and a Skeleton Warrior. Loot includes +2 weapons and potions of Invisibility.
• Due south of the stone circle, find a Greater Wyvern.
• East of the wyvern, encounter Mist enemies: a Vampiric Mist, a Mist Horror, a Poison Mist, and two Crimson Deaths.

Forest of Tethir

• South from the starting point, find Yuan-ti including a Yuan-ti Mage.
• East, cross a fallen tree, encountering a Crimson Death and Vampiric Mist.
• Southeast down the fallen tree leads to the eastern map side.
• East from there, then northeast to a cave entrance.
• Inside the cave, search the pool for the Mana Bow +4.
• Enable trap detection to remove a floor trap blocking the way further into the cave.
• Fight a Kuo-toan warband inside the cave and another on the way out, allowing you to restock on Kuo-toan Bolts.
• Return to the large fallen trees and go northwest. Near a hut, meet Coran.
• Coran asks for help rescuing Safana from wolfweres in the Wolfwere Camp to the north.
• Inside the hut, fight Mist-type enemies. Loot three containers at the back (after removing traps) for a Longbow +1, magical ammo, Chain Mail +2, a Large Shield +1, a Wand of Lightning, and potions of Extra Healing.
• Head north to the Wolfwere Camp. Safana has betrayed you to the wolfwere leader, Lanfear, who kills Safana.
• Defeat Lanfear and the other Wolfweres before they kill Coran.
• After the fight, Coran will apologize but will not join your party.

Return to the Underdark Exit

• If you need a Scroll of Improved Haste for crafting, buy one from Carlig in the Duergar Encampment in the Underdark. Returning to the surface may involve fighting drow with assistance.
• Speak to Elhan and mention Bodhi's words. Elhan will transport you to the Forest of Tethir and use the Rhynn Lanthorn to reveal the entrance to Suldanessellar.
• Each party member receives 74500XP.
