Barona: Catacombs

Follow this walkthrough for Tales of Graces f Remastered to conquer the Barona Catacombs, defeat the Monarch Bat boss, and complete Chapter 1.

Alright, so you've made it to the Barona Catacombs! It's not too tricky, but there are a few goodies and even a boss fight waiting for you. Let's get through this together.

First things first, just follow the path until you hit a stone door. You'll get to see a skit called Revenge Will Be Mine! right there. Keep going over the bridge, and you'll find a chest with 500 Gald. After that, head down the path to snag some Apple Gel x3. Then, loop back up to the main path and continue on. Keep an eye out for another chest holding a Glassphere.

Now, when you reach the next split in the path, take the upper route. It might seem like a detour, but it's worth it because you'll find a Life Bottle. Once you've got that, backtrack to the lower path. You'll find a save point there, and if you hang around, you'll trigger another skit called Sticky Situation.

Monarch Bat Boss Guide

Get ready, because it's boss time! You're up against the Monarch Bat and some smaller bats. The key here is to take out those smaller bats first. They can really add up the damage, so thinning their numbers will make your life a lot easier. The Monarch Bat has a couple of annoying moves: Photon Strike, which is a three-hit attack that leaves damaging light balls on the ground, and Dark Sliver, a direct attack on one target. To help you survive, make sure you set Sophie to focus on healing using First Aid. Once the little guys are gone and Sophie's got your back, you can really start to combo the Monarch Bat and take it down.

With the Monarch Bat defeated, you'll see some scenes play out, and that's going to wrap up the Childhood Arc of the story. Great job!
