Hey there! So, Richard's not dead after all, but he's in a bit of a bind and needs Asbel's help. Let's get you through this part of the journey!
As soon as you get control, make a beeline for the chest right near you. Inside, you'll find a Red Ribbon. After that, head north. You're looking for some purple flowers – examine them to discover Puffpetal Down, and you'll also snag Puffpetal Down x3. While you're up there, you'll trigger the skit A Place to Belong.
Keep heading north and grab the Feather from the chest you'll find near the Barona zoneline. Then, it's time to backtrack a bit towards the cottage by the beach. A scene will play out, followed by a fight.
After the little scuffle, chat with the Turtlez folks hanging out by the cottage. They've got a bunch of new items, and some of them even hint at a new weapon type for a new ally – pretty neat, huh? Don't miss the skit Class Dismissed, and then grab the chest nearby for a Paralysis Charm.
Inside the cottage itself, you'll find another chest containing Pasta x3. Talk to the guy inside too; he'll give you a hint about titles you can earn by opening a bunch of chests. Now, for a bit of a grind: head out to the beach and use the cottage to respawn the sparkling spots. Keep doing this until you get the Magic Carta No. 5. It might take a few tries, but it's worth it!
Once you've got that card, head south from the cottage. You'll get a pretty funny, albeit confusing, scene. After it's over, check the chest that's nearby for a Rusted Nail. Then, make your way southeast. You'll see another scene, grab the 658 Gald, and watch the Bilateral Alliance skit. After all that, you're ready to head into the ruins!
Pro Tip: If you've got the 'steal' effect on any of your characters' A-Artes (like Sophie's Eagle Dive, which you get from leveling a specific Title), now's a great time to use it! You can steal Roe from the Rising Star enemy. This is a super rare item early on, so snagging it now will save you a lot of trouble later. To do this, set everyone to manual mode and focus on one character to spam the steal skill. Keep at it until you see a notice pop up above the character icons – that means you've successfully stolen it!
