Harpooning is a neat little side activity you can stumble upon while sailing the Jackdaw. Keep an eye out for a white circular marker on the ocean with seagulls circling overhead – that's your cue that some sea critters are nearby and ready for a fight!
When you spot one of these markers, sail over to it. You'll transition into a rowboat, harpoon in hand. Your goal is to hit the target animal with your harpoon. Once you land a hit, the animal will start dragging your boat, giving you a chance to land more harpoons. Don't let up!
After a bit, the creature will dive underwater, only to resurface and charge at your boat. You'll need to hit it with another harpoon to stop its attack and continue the dragging process. Keep at it until its health bar is depleted – that's all there is to it!
