Patches the Spider

After reaching the Lecture Building 1F lamp, Patches can be found in the room across from it. You can speak to him through the door, but he will not say much.

Continue to the Nightmare Frontier. Make your way to the treasure overlooking the swamp alley, past the Giant Lost Childs. A cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) will occur where Patches knocks you into the pit below.

After being knocked down, head to the Lecture Building 2F. This area is accessed by examining the mummy after beating The One Reborn.

Take the ladder near the Church Giant to find Patches and speak with him face-to-face.

You will have the option to select dialogue choices. If you choose “Not at All”, Patches will hand over the Anti-Clockwise Metamorphosis Rune. He will then appear in the Chalice Dungeons as a merchant.

Regardless of your dialogue choice after being knocked down, you will receive the Beg for Life gesture.
