Tomb of Oedon

Alright, so you've made it to the Tomb of Oedon, and it's time to face your first real roadblock: Father Gascoigne. Don't sweat it, though! We've got a solid plan to get you through this.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Tiny Music Box: Using this item (equip it to a quick item slot!) every other time you activate it will cause Gascoigne to hold his head, opening him up for a fully charged attack. This is your best friend in Phase 1 and 2.

Phases:

1. Phase 1 & 2 (Human Form): Keep your distance and use the Music Box to stun him. After he's stunned three times by the box, he'll transform. Between stuns, focus on dodging his Hunter Axe and Blunderbuss attacks.
2. Phase 3 (Beast Form): The Music Box only works once on him in beast form, so get that last charged attack in. Your main strategy here is to bait his pounce attack. When he leaps, dodge *into* him to avoid it, then immediately shoot him with your firearm to stagger him. Follow up with a visceral attack. If you need to heal or get some breathing room, run to the back of the arena and drop onto the rooftop. Just make sure he's not about to drop down after you before you turn your back. Repeat this pattern until he's down.

Strategy:

• Keep a good distance to give yourself room to dodge and react.
• Use your gun to stagger him for visceral attacks whenever possible. If a stagger fails, you'll want that space to move.
• Father Gascoigne’s Beast Form Attacks:
  • Claw Combo: A quick series of attacks that's tough to counter because his head turns away. Best to just dodge.
  • Downward Slam: He smashes down with both hands. This is a good one to counter.
  • Jump Attack: He pounces forward with a slash. This is the easiest attack to counter.
  • Aerial Dive: He jumps into the air. Roll *into* him to avoid this one.
