Bad Reception

Your step-by-step guide to completing the Bad Reception side mission in Borderlands 3, including finding all the items Claptrap needs and dealing with Sid.

Alright, let's get this Bad Reception side mission sorted out. Claptrap's got a few odd requests for you, so we'll tackle them one by one. Don't worry, it's not too complicated, just a bit of running around and item hunting.

Search old laundry

First up, we need to find the Wire Hanger. Head to the Old Laundry marker on your map. You'll see a trap door, but it's sealed shut. Look for an umbrella on the hill behind it. You'll need to do a ground slam from this umbrella directly onto the trap door to open it. Once inside, you'll find the Wire Hanger waiting for you.

Search satellite tower

Next, we're off to find the Antenna at the Satellite Tower. Set a waypoint and head there. When you arrive, you'll have to deal with some enemies hanging around the base of the tower. Once they're cleared out, climb your way to the very top to grab the Antenna.

Search Sid’s Stop

Now, we need to get Sid's Tinfoil Hat. Make your way to Sid's Stop and talk to him. He'll ask you to destroy three satellite dishes scattered around his location. After you've blown up all three, talk to him again. Be ready, because he'll turn hostile and attack you. Take him down, and his Tinfoil Hat will drop for you to collect.

Search sparks cave

With Sid dealt with, it's time to head into Sparks Cave to find the Spork. Once you're inside, you'll notice electricity blocking your path. Look towards the back of the room and shoot the target there to deactivate the power. Then, you can safely proceed further into the cave to collect the Spork from a body.

Search old shack

Finally, we need to grab the Umbrella from the old shack. Head over there and be prepared for a turret guarding the entrance. Take out the turret, and then quickly slide through the door before it closes. Inside, you'll have to fight a Badass Tink. Once it's down, you can find the Umbrella in the back room.

Give items to Claptrap

Now that you've collected all five items – the Wire Hanger, Antenna, Tinfoil Hat, Spork, and Umbrella – head back to where you accepted the mission. Give all the items to Claptrap to complete the Bad Reception side mission.
