Leene Square (1000 A.D.)

Upon entering Leene Square in 1000 AD, you'll find the Millennial Fair in full swing. Explore the various mini-games and shops. Purchase Potions, the Bronze Blade, Bronze Helm, and Padded Vest for Crono from the shops, equip them, and sell his old gear.

Continue north to the second area of the square. A girl will run into you, causing her pendant to fall. Talk to her, then retrieve her pendant. Returning the pendant to her will lead to her introducing herself as Marle. Agree to let her accompany you, and she will join your party.

While waiting for Lucca's invention, explore the west side of the area. You will see a pink bag on a counter; do NOT touch it, as this affects a later event. Find a cat in the corner, interact with it, and it will follow you.

Go to the east side of the area, near the Soda-Guzzling Contest. Talk to the girl there to return her cat; Marle will react positively to your kindness.

Return to the middle area, then go south to the first area of Leene Square. Speak with Melchior the swordsmith (located left of the upper-right blue tent) and refuse his request to have Marle sell her pendant.

In the second area of the square, talk to the merchant in the blue tent but do not buy anything.

You will learn Lucca's experiment is ready in the north area. Before proceeding, you can play more mini-games. Exchange any Silver Points for regular money with the man in the purple tent in the second area.

Continue north. Marle will stop to look at candy; wait patiently without moving, as this is important for a later event.

Proceed north to the next area. Taban, Lucca's father, will announce Lucca's invention. Speak with Taban, then talk to Lucca on the left telepod (a device that transports people).

Step onto the left telepod. Lucca and Taban will activate the machine, successfully teleporting you to the right telepod.

Marle will then want to try the telepod. As she steps on, her pendant reacts, and she is warped into another dimension.

Take the pendant Marle left behind on the telepod. Step onto the telepod yourself, and Lucca will activate it again, sending you through the same warp. You will arrive in Truce Canyon in the year 600 AD.
