Learn how to unlock Techniques (magic spells) and Dual Techs in Chrono Trigger by gaining Tech Points and combining character abilities.

Characters learn new Techs after gaining a certain amount of Tech Points. Initially, your party can only learn a few Techs. You will only be able to learn and cast magic spells after meeting Spekkio at the End of Time.

Each character has a specific elemental affinity that determines the type of spells they learn:

• Crono: Lightning
• Marle: Water
• Lucca: Fire
• Robo: N/A
• Frog: Water
• Ayla: N/A
• Magus: Shadow

As your party learns new Techs, you may notice characters learning Dual Techs. These are powerful combined attacks performed when two characters in the current party have learned specific spells. Triple Techs can also be learned, requiring all three characters in the party to know specific spells or have a certain accessory equipped to use them.
