Banana Fairies: Learn Tiny Kong's Mini-Monkey move to access Banana Fairy Island. Photograph 2 fairies in each of the 8 worlds and 4 on DK Isle for a total of 20. The queen will give you a camera and a shockwave move. To photograph fairies, hold Z and press down C to bring up the crosshair (radar (your minimap with nearby blips and threats marked)), then press Z, A, or B when the crosshair overlaps the fairy. Capturing fairies increases your maximum totals and unlocks secrets in Mystery Mode: Cinema Mode (2 fairies), Bonus and Arcade Mode (6 fairies), Boss Replay (10 fairies), Krusha in Multiplayer (15 fairies), and Cheat Mode (20 fairies). Collecting all 20 fairies and visiting the queen rewards you with the 201st Golden Banana.

Banana Medals: Earn a Banana Medal for every 75 bananas collected for a single Kong in a world, resulting in 5 medals per world. The last five Banana Medals are in Hideout Helm, earned by completing challenges. You need at least 15 Banana Medals to play Jetpac at Cranky's lab.

Battle Arena Crown: Find metallic pads with K. Rool's face in each world. Press Z on a pad to enter an arena where enemies will respawn (be brought back to life at a checkpoint after death). Survive waves of enemies for a set time without falling off or losing all health to win a Battle Arena Crown. There are 8 crowns in the worlds and 2 on DK Isle, for a total of 10. You need at least 4 crowns to open a door in Hideout Helm leading to K. Rool's throne.

Boss Key: Enter Troff n' Scoff portals by feeding Scoff bananas until the door opens. Defeat the boss inside to obtain a Boss Key. These keys open K. Lumsy's cage, which in turn opens entrances to the 8 worlds. The eighth key, obtained in Hideout Helm after acquiring the two special coins, frees K. Lumsy and allows access to the fight with K. Rool.

Nintendo Coin: Defeat the DK Arcade game twice in Frantic Factory to earn the Nintendo Coin. This coin, along with the Rareware Coin, is required to open a door at the end of Hideout Helm, which contains the last two Banana Fairies and the final Boss Key.

Rareware Coin: Collect at least 15 Banana Medals and play Jetpac at Cranky's lab. Score 5000 points to earn the Rareware Coin. This coin, along with the Nintendo Coin, is required to open a door at the end of Hideout Helm, which contains the last two Banana Fairies and the final Boss Key.
