Hey there! If you're planning on tackling Doom 64 over multiple sessions, you're definitely going to want to grab a Nintendo 64 Memory Card. It's super simple to set up and will let you keep your progress safe.

How to Use the Memory Card:

1. First off, just pop the Memory Card into the slot on the back of your Nintendo 64 controller. Easy peasy!
2. Once it's in, you'll be able to save your game in Doom 64. Keep in mind, you can only save right after you've completely finished a level.
3. When you beat a level and have your Memory Card plugged in, you'll see all the available save slots appear. You can store up to 16 different save files!
4. To actually save your game, just press the C-Right and C-Left buttons on your controller at the exact same time. Boom, saved! You can also overwrite an old save file if you need to make space or want to start fresh from a certain point.

Loading Your Saved Game:

Ready to jump back in? Here's how to load a game you've already saved:

1. While you're playing, just pause the game.
2. Head over to the Options menu.
3. Select Password. Now, instead of the usual password prompt, you'll see all your saved games listed out.
4. To load a specific file, simply highlight it and press C-Left and C-Right together.
5. If you just want to get back to the regular password screen, press the Start button.

A Little Bonus: Saved Game Adjustments

Something cool to know is that your saved games actually round up your health, ammo, and armor a bit. So, if you finish a level with, say, 15% health, 45 bullets, and 160% armor, and then save and load that game later, you might find yourself with 25% health, 50 bullets, and 150% armor. It's a nice little boost that can really help you out in a pinch!
