[07-01-18] E3L08 - Hotel Hell

Observe the large neon sign in front of the hotel; the letters "OT" in "HOTEL" flash off, displaying "HOTEL HEL".

Before the arch leading to the pool's left side, a dark wall hides a hint for the secret level: "BEHIND THE FOUNTAIN". Use your Goggles (a type of visor that reveals hidden things) to see it.

In the cave area of Secret 3, you'll find an impaled body on the wall, which is Indiana Jones. Duke comments, "We meet again, Dr. Jones!". When you collect the Atomic Health (a powerful health pickup) on the pedestal in this room, the cave collapses, referencing the Indiana Jones movies.

At the bottom of the hotel pool, you can find an opened Babe Ruth bar, a reference to the movie "Caddyshack". In the movie, a Babe Ruth chocolate bar is dropped into a pool and mistaken for waste. Look very closely to confirm it's a Babe Ruth bar due to Duke Nukem 3D's graphical resolution.

In a toilet stall within the bathroom, look at the roof in the left corner for scrunched-up green letters. These are part of a rumor about the message "Duke Was Here 2017" being in the game. The letters are distorted due to the wall's height. If you use the build editor (a tool for modifying game levels), you can fix the wall to see the message "DUKE WAS HERE 2017" clearly.

In Secret 2, the area with the fish tank, face the entrance and look at the right wall for the message "CHECK THE VINTAGE", which points to another secret within this level.
