The interface and Heads-Up Display (HUD) in Esoteric Ebb are designed to provide critical information without overwhelming the player, allowing for immersion in the dark fantasy world. At the top left of your screen, you'll find your character's vital statistics. The prominent red bar represents your Health Points (HP). When this bar depletes to zero, your character perishes, and you will respawn at the last activated Shrine of Echoes, typically losing a portion of your collected Souls. Adjacent to the HP bar is the blue bar, sifying your Stamina. Stamina is consumed by actions such as sprinting, dodging, attacking, and blocking. It regenerates over time when these actions are not being performed. Managing your Stamina is crucial, especially during prolonged combat with foes like the Corrupted Knight, as running out of Stamina leaves you vulnerable. To the right of your health and stamina, you'll see icons for your equipped items and abilities. These slots correspond to your hotkeys, allowing for quick access to healing items like the Crimson Draught or offensive spells. The number of active slots may vary depending on your character's progression and equipped gear. In the bottom center of the screen, you'll often find a reticle or targeting indicator, especially when locked onto an enemy. This helps maintain focus during combat. When interacting with the environment or NPCs, context-sensitive prompts will appear, often near the center of the screen, indicating available actions, such as picking up an item or opening a door. A small compass or directional indicator might also be present, helping you orient yourself within the sprawling environments, from the desolate plains of the Ashlands to the claustrophobic tunnels beneath the Obsidian Citadel. Enemy health bars will appear above their heads when they are within range and targeted, displaying their remaining HP, allowing you to gauge the remaining threat.
