Creating the Avatar

Understand that Avatar appearance (height, face, hair, voice) has no impact on gameplay. Male Avatars cannot have hair decorations.

Recognize that Boon and Bane customizations alter your Avatar's stat growth rates. Boon increases a stat's growth, while Bane decreases another's.

Consult the Boon/Bane table to match descriptive terms with stat increases or decreases: HP (Robust/Sickly), Strength (Strong/Weak), Magic (Clever/Dull), Skill (Deft/Clumsy), Luck (Lucky/Unlucky), Speed (Quick/Slow), Defense (Sturdy/Fragile), Resistance (Calm/Excitable).

Consider prioritizing Speed as a Boon, as it affects double-hitting capabilities. Having Speed five points higher than an enemy allows for double attacks, while an enemy five points higher can double-hit you.

Avoid making HP or Speed your Bane, as these are critical stats that can put you at a significant disadvantage, especially on higher difficulties.

A common strategy is to choose Strength or Magic as your Bane and focus on the other offensive stat. For example, boost Speed and lower Magic to utilize strength-based weapons like the Dragonstone and Yato.

Understand that your Avatar's Talent determines the one Heart Seal class they can access, unlike in Awakening.

Note that you can choose any base class as your Talent, except for Songstress, Maid/Butler, Wolfskin, Kitsune, and Villager, regardless of your chosen game version (Conquest, Birthright, or Revelations).

Utilize Friendship Seals to reclass your Avatar into the class of an ally of the same gender with whom you achieve an A rank support. This can expand your skill options, especially by choosing classes exclusive to other game versions (e.g., Swordmaster in Birthright via Hana or Ryoma, Paladin in Conquest via Peri or Silas).
