Alchemy

Learn how to get Cold Stones in Outward, either by crafting, looting Wendigos and Ice Witches, or buying from Agatha and Tuan.

Alright, so you've met Vay the Alchemist in Berg, right? She's chilling with the other merchants in the middle of town, usually marked with a little shop icon on your map. Chat her up, pick the 'I’d like to talk…’ option, and she'll lay out what she needs for this quest.

Vay's after a Cold Stone. Now, you've got a few ways to snag one of these. The absolute easiest and most reliable method is to just whip one up yourself using an alchemy kit. You'll need a Mana Stone and a tiny bit of Blue Sand for that. If you don't have those handy right away, don't sweat it. Just push through your first faction quest. By the time you're done, you should have at least one Cold Stone and a Fire Stone chilling in your inventory from fallen foes.

But hey, if you're feeling more like a treasure hunter and want to find a Cold Stone on a defeated enemy, they drop pretty reliably from a couple of nasty critters:

• Wendigo: These guys roam all over the place, but you'll often find them lurking near the edges of lakes, rivers, or even the ocean.
• Ice Witch: Keep an eye out for these ladies scattered throughout the world. They seem to favor bandit camps, forts, and dungeons.

Beyond the hunt, two specific vendors are known to stock Cold Stones:

• Agatha: You can find her over at Hermit's House, located in the northeastern part of Chersonese, just east of Montcalm Clan Fort.
• Tuan: This is another alchemist merchant, and he's hanging out in the city of Levant.

Once you've finally got your Cold Stone, no matter how you acquired it, head back to Vay in Berg. She'll hook you up with 50 silver and two Weather Defense potions as a thank you.
