Control Tower walkthrough for Star Ocean: The Last Hope, detailing Energy Barriers, treasures like Streaked Chainmail, and monsters.
Walkthrough
- 1Enter the Control Tower and use the Save Point. Take the first path north.
- 2After passing an intermittent energy barrier, turn west at the intersection.
- 3Wind your way west, past the center, and then northeast to find the Streaked Chainmail for Reimi in a Treasure Chest.
- 4Raid the Treasure Chest to the west to find Compact Stun Bomb x8.
- 5Return to the center of the floor. Head southwest and then southeast to find the Skill Manual "Energy Shield", which can benefit either Reimi or Lymle.
- 6Retrace your steps west and take the ramp down to the Generator Area on floor B2.
- 7On floor B2, head to the room at the east end to find two Treasure Chests containing Sturdy Bracelet x1 and Poison Cider x3.
- 8Return to Control Tower: B1 and head back toward the Treasure Chests at the north end.
- 9Near the chest that had the Stun Bombs, sprint past another intermittent energy barrier and head west.
- 10The exit here leads to Control Tower: 1F. You can stop at the nearby Vending Machine to stock up or view a Private Action with Lymle and Bacchus if you missed it.
- 11Take the ramp up to the first floor (Control Tower: 1F).
- 12Use the Thunder Ring to destroy steam vents on each ring-like area to release fog and make Energy Barriers visible. Destroying vents grants EXP and Party SP.
- 13Collect treasures: Element Breaker x3, Skill Manual "Stun" x1 (for Edge or Reimi), and Booster Wand x1 (for Lymle).
- 14Head for the ramp on the east side and go up to Control Tower: 2F.
- 15On 2F, find a Recovery Point near the entrance, useful for grinding.
- 16Collect treasures: Compact Poison Bomb x4, Skill Manual "Mindflare" x1 (for Lymle, boosts INT and symbol power at triple MP cost), Silvance x1 (for Edge), and Power Bracelet x1.
- 17Make your way around to the outer ring on the northwest side and exit east to Control Tower: 3F.
- 18On 3F, collect treasures: Skill Manual "Fury Boost" x1, Bronto Armor, and Riot Potion x1 with Anti-Paralysis Amulet x1.
Tips
- Energy Barriers hurt party members, causing damage and losing 1% of their maximum HP on contact. Avoid permanent barriers and sprint past intermittent ones when they disappear.
- On Control Tower: 1F and 2F, use the Thunder Ring to destroy steam vents. This releases fog, making Energy Barriers easier to see. Each destroyed vent provides EXP and Party SP.
- The Skill Manual "Stun" must be set as a Battle Skill to take effect, adding a chance of stunning enemies to physical attacks.
- The Skill Manual "Mindflare" provides a temporary boost to Lymle's INT and makes her symbols more powerful, but triples the MP cost of symbols cast while active.
- Watch out for Dragon Generals on 2F, especially when they are in Rush Mode, as they will briefly take to the air and crash down on the party.
