This mission emphasizes coordinated defense, strategic placement of fortifications, and effective use of class abilities to hold the line against relentless enemy waves.

In "Defending the Intel," the RED team's objective is to prevent the BLU forces from reaching and extracting sensitive intelligence. This mission is a test of endurance and tactical prowess, requiring players to work together to establish strong defensive positions, anticipate enemy attack vectors, and manage resources effectively. Success means safeguarding the intelligence and repelling the BLU's offensive.

Mission Objectives

The core objective is to prevent the BLU team from capturing the RED team's Intelligence briefcase. This typically involves several phases:

1. Initial Setup: Upon starting the mission, players have a brief period to establish defensive positions. This is crucial for Engineers to set up Sentry Guns and Dispensers, and for other classes to find advantageous spots.
2. Repelling Waves: The BLU team will launch coordinated assaults in waves. Players must identify the primary attack routes and focus their firepower and abilities to neutralize these threats.
3. Protecting the Intelligence Room: The Intelligence itself is usually located in a secure room. Defenders must ensure that no BLU player can reach the briefcase, grab it, and escape.

Key Defensive Locations and Strategies

• The Intelligence Room: The most critical area. Defenders must maintain a constant presence and be ready to react to any breach.
• Chokepoints and Entryways: Areas where the BLU team is forced to funnel through. These are ideal for Sentry Guns, Sticky Traps, and concentrated fire.
• Flank Routes: Be aware of secondary routes that the BLU team might use to bypass main defenses. Pyros and Scouts can be effective at covering these.
• High Ground: Positions offering a clear line of sight over the battlefield are excellent for Snipers and Soldiers.
