Locate Mother Maimai in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds to begin collecting her lost children and unlock powerful item upgrades. Learn how to find Maimais and their rewards.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Head to Lake Hylia. Go one screen right and one screen down from Link’s House.
  2. 2
From the north side of the lake, go right and bomb the cracked wall to reveal a cave.
  3. 3
Inside, you will find Mother Maimai, who has lost her 100 children. Agree to help her find them.
  4. 4
Upon agreeing, Link will receive the Maimai Map, which can be accessed on the bottom screen to show the number of Maimais remaining in an area.
  5. 5
Maimais can be found all over Hyrule (but not in dungeons). Some are visible on walls, while others are hidden under rocks or bushes. Listen for a distinctive chirping sound when you are near one. Generally, each screen has at least one Maimai.
  6. 6
Maimai 1 is located on the wall directly outside Mother Maimai's cave.

  • Returning 10 Maimais at a time allows you to upgrade one of Link’s items (excluding rented items).

  • Nice Sand Rod: Sand pillars have infinite duration.
  • Nice Tornado Rod: Now deals damage to enemies.
