Sword

Obtained: After visiting the Sanctuary.

How to use: Press B to swing. Hold B and release to perform a sword spin. At full health, Link can fire a beam of energy.

Upgrade: Master Sword (complete the first three dungeons). Requires 2 Master Ores per upgrade level (max 2 upgrades). The Great Spin attack is unlocked after rescuing all 100 Maimai children.

Green Mail (Tunic)

Obtained: Automatic.

How to use: Passive. Reduces damage taken.

Upgrade: Blue Mail (Swamp Palace), Red Mail (Lorule Castle). Each upgrade halves the damage taken.

Shield

Obtained: Item Seller (Kakariko Village or Lake Hylia).

How to use: Press R to raise the shield and deflect attacks. Not all attacks can be blocked.

Upgrade: Hylian Shield (Turtle Rock). Blocks a greater variety of attacks, especially magical ones.

Ravio’s Bracelet

Obtained: Ravio (after the Graveyard secret way).

How to use: Allows Link to merge into walls and walk along them using the A button. The energy gauge depletes while merged.

Upgrade: Not applicable.

Power Glove

Obtained: Rosso (after the first dungeon).

How to use: Press A to lift and throw small rocks.

Upgrade: Titan’s Mitts (Desert Palace). Allows lifting of big rocks.

Pegasus Boots

Obtained: Shady Guy (Kakariko Village - after the first dungeon). Catch him by merging into the wall ahead of him and emerging behind him.

How to use: Press L to dash in a straight line. Useful for damaging monsters, ramming objects, and reaching items.

Upgrade: Not applicable.
