Dark Palace Area: To The Dark Palace

Your guide to navigating Lorule and finding the Dark Palace in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Discover secrets and Maimai along the way!

Alright, so we need to get to the Dark Palace. Don't let the name scare you too much, it's not as bad as it sounds! First things first, we need to find a way into Lorule. You can do this either near the Eastern Palace or in the Zora's Domain area. Let's warp to the Witch's Hut. Once you're there, dive into the water right above you and swim left to the next screen. You'll see some stairs; climb them to get back onto dry land. To your left, there's a big waterfall. If you look closely, you'll spot a doorway to Lorule hidden behind it! Now, merge into the wall right above the water and walk left. You'll pass through the waterfall and into Lorule. As soon as you arrive, dive straight ahead to rescue Maimai #77.

We could go straight for the Dark Palace from here, but where's the fun in that? Let's take a little detour and explore. You might even find something amusing! Swim to the right, towards the shallow water. While you're in it, merge into the wall nearby. From there, walk all the way to the right, past the next screen, and over that big chasm. You'll emerge just before the exit to the next screen. Now, dive right before the river plunges left into the chasm to rescue Maimai #78. Pretty sneaky hiding spot, huh?

Keep swimming right to the next screen. At the very end, you'll find a waterfall with a cave hidden behind it. Head into the cave – you'll find a rather timid Hinox in there. He'll give you a blue rupee to try and get you to leave him alone. You can keep pestering him for more rupees, but be careful not to push him too far!

Once you've really annoyed Hinox, he'll go on a bit of a rampage, dealing damage to you. At this point, your only option is to run! Get out of the cave as fast as you can. If you go back in, he'll just keep rampaging. If you manage to leave before he gets too angry, he'll even drop a classic Zelda reference. Pretty neat!

Back outside, merge onto the wall nearby and head back the way you came – all the way to the left. This time, we're aiming for the area that's like Zora's Domain in Hyrule.
