Walkthrough
- 1Pegasus Boots: After visiting Zora's Domain, find Shady Guy near north Kakariko Village. He will run when you approach. To catch him, merge into the wall ahead of him, walk towards him as a painting, emerge behind him, and you will catch him. The Pegasus Boots are your reward. They are not essential but are handy for knocking items and lost Maimai from trees and other tall objects.
- 2Fill Your Bottles: Bottles are useful for restoring health. Keep a fairy in a Bottle; find them in fairy fountains. One is in the first dungeon, another is south of Link's House by bombing the right-most cracked wall. You need a Net to catch a fairy, obtainable for free from Kakariko Village's Bee Guy if you have a Bottle. Fairies restore 5 hearts and revive Link automatically if he reaches zero hearts. Early on, fill Bottles with fairies. Later, upgrade to Blue Potions from the Witch's Hut, which restore all health. Always keep at least one fairy for backup.
- 3Paint a Picture (Wall Merging): Merging into a wall stops you from taking damage. This is invaluable for most boss fights and dodging enemies, especially when low on health. Merging uses your energy gauge.
- 4A Stunning Victory (Enemy Stuns): The Hookshot can pull in Rupees and small hearts, and stuns non-armored enemies from a safe distance, pushing them back. While ranged combat is useful, your sword is often quicker. To minimize injuries, stun foes before attacking. The Hookshot or Boomerang are good for a few monsters. For many foes or when time is short, use the Tornado Rod to daze them. Most monsters can be stunned, except for the Lynel.
- 5Setup StreetPass: Speak to Gramps on the west side of Kakariko Village to set up StreetPass. Update your Shadow Link regularly. Enabling StreetPass allows others to receive your Shadow Link, and you to receive theirs. Shadow Link battles are a fun distraction and a good way to make rupees. You need to complete many battles for the 50 StreetPass Challenges. If you live remotely, bring your 3DS or 2DS to populated areas to StreetPass.
