Explore the vast spread of Greek culture in Age of Empires IV, from southern France to India, and its influence across the Mediterranean and beyond.

Greek culture initially centered on the mainland of modern Greece. It then spread to the islands of the Aegean, the lower Balkans, and across the Aegean to the western coast of Anatolia. Its influence reached Sicily, parts of North Africa, and southern France, with Marseilles founded as a Greek colony.

The campaigns of Alexander the Great significantly expanded this cultural reach, establishing it in central Anatolia, the Levant, Egypt, Syria, Mesopotamia, and Persia, extending to the borders of India. By the early second century B.C., it was possible to travel from the south of modern France to India using only Greek for communication.
