Uncover the secrets of the BONELAB Hub! Learn how to unlock modules, pilot the BOSSCLAW, and find hidden areas in this essential guide.
Alright, let's talk about the BONELAB Hub, also known as the Special Projects Area. This is basically your main base of operations in the game, kind of like a central station that lets you jump into all the different game modes. It's super important for the main story, and you'll be coming back here a lot.
Think of the Hub as having six main modules. Each one is a gateway to a different themed map. Plus, there's a Bodymall where you can switch up your avatar. It’s your starting point for everything, so getting comfortable here is key.
Unlocking the Left Side
After you've checked out three of the modules, you'll notice these boxes with energy cores start to pop up above them, creating these cool pillars of light. Your next move is to head to the control room. This is where things get interesting – you get to pilot a BOSSCLAW!
You'll have a few controls to play with: a lever to extend and retract the BOSSCLAW, directional controls to move it along its rails, and a button to toggle its magnetic gravity field. Your mission here is to use the BOSSCLAW, guided by the minimap, to grab those energy cores. Once a core is attached, you need to bring it over to one of the six tubes flanking the control room. They’ll snap into place automatically when you’re close enough. Get three cores into their tubes, and a massive quarantine airlock on the right side of the control room will open up, letting you progress.
Unlocking the Right Side
Later in the game, you'll find yourself back in the Hub. This time, you’ll need to explore the remaining modules and collect their cores, just like before. Once all six energy cores are slotted into their pipes, the BONEWORKS door, located to the right of the control area, will finally be openable.
Hidden Room
Feeling adventurous? Head into the metal vents underneath the lab. You'll find a maze of corridors that eventually lead to two walls with hand-drawn doors. If you've found one of the keycards scattered around, you can use it on one of these walls to pass through. Doing so will land you in a room connected to the Lab, but it's actually located beneath District 05 of MythOS City. What the second hand-drawn door is for? That's still a bit of a mystery!
