Installation and Setup

Get BoneLab up and running! This guide walks you through the initial installation and setup process, from downloading to your first moments in the game. Let's get started!

Alright, let's get BoneLab installed and ready to go! Think of this as your personal pit stop before you dive into the main game. We'll cover everything you need to know to get set up so you can jump right into the action without any headaches.

The BONELAB Hub, also known as the Special Projects Area, is your main base of operations. It's where you'll access all the different game modes and is a key part of the main campaign. You'll find six modules here, each leading to a different themed map, and a Bodymall to customize your avatar. It's pretty much the central point for everything you'll be doing.

You'll start in the Conceptual Isolation Chamber after the 'Descent' level. Your first task is to get out of there. You can either force the doors open or find a way out through the roof hatch. Once you're out, you'll find yourself in the Special Projects Area, with the track 'Would You Even Know' playing. There's a bulletin board that will point you towards the first three modules you need to explore.

Unlocking the Left Side

After you've explored those first three modules, you'll notice boxes with energy cores appearing above them, creating pillars of light. Your next step is to head to the control room. Inside, you'll get to pilot a BOSSCLAW using a set of controls. You can extend and retract it with a lever, move it around on its rails, and toggle its magnetic gravity field with a third button. Keep an eye on the minimap to guide the BOSSCLAW.

Your goal is to pilot the BOSSCLAW to these unlocked energy cores and activate the gravity field. This will cause the cores to snap to the BOSSCLAW. Once they're attached, you need to bring them over to one of the six tubes located around the control room. They'll automatically snap into place when you get close enough. Once you've got energy cores in any three of these tubes, the big quarantine airlock to your right will open up, letting you progress.

Unlocking the Right Side

Later in the game, you'll find yourself back in the Hub. This time, you'll need to explore the remaining modules and collect their cores, just like you did before. When all six cores are attached to their pipes, the BONEWORKS door, located to the right of the control area, will become accessible.

Hidden Room

If you're feeling adventurous, you can explore the metal vents located beneath the lab. These vents lead to a network of corridors. You'll find two walls with hand-drawn doors. If you have one of the keycards found in Stress Level Zero's offices, you can use it to pass through one of these walls. Doing so will transport you to a room connected to the Lab, but it's physically located underneath District 05 of MythOS City. The purpose of the second hand-drawn door is still a mystery!

Enemies to Watch For

Keep an eye out for Crablets – they might be small, but they can swarm you! You'll also encounter the BOSSCLAW, which you'll actually pilot yourself for certain tasks.
