Entering the Museum and First Encounters

Your guide to the BONELAB Hub! Learn how to unlock modules, pilot the BOSSCLAW, and find hidden areas. Get started on your BONELAB adventure!

Alright, so you've just finished the 'Descent' and found yourself in the BONELAB Hub, also known as the Special Projects Area. This place is basically your central station for everything in the game, connecting you to all six main game modes and acting as a major turning point in the campaign. You'll also find the Bodymall here, where you can swap out your avatar. Right off the bat, there's a bulletin board that'll task you with exploring three modules to get things rolling.

Unlocking the Left Side:

After you've checked out three of the modules, you'll notice boxes with energy cores appearing above them, creating pillars of light. Your next move is to head to the control room. Inside, you'll get to pilot a BOSSCLAW using a set of controls. You can extend and retract it with a lever, move it forward and side-to-side on its rails, and use a button to toggle its magnetic gravity field. Your goal here is to use the minimap to guide the BOSSCLAW to those energy cores. Once you activate the gravity field, the cores will snap to the BOSSCLAW. Then, you need to bring these attached cores over to one of the six tubes flanking the control room. They'll automatically lock into place when you get close enough. Once you've filled any three of these tubes, the massive quarantine airlock to the right of the control room will open up.

Unlocking the Right Side:

Once you're back in the Hub after progressing further in the game, you'll need to explore the remaining modules and retrieve their cores, just like before. After all six cores are slotted into their respective pipes, the BONEWORKS door to the right of the control area will become accessible.

Hidden Room:

If you're feeling adventurous, you can enter the metal vents located beneath the lab. Follow the corridors, and you'll find two walls with hand-drawn doors. If you have one of the keycards (you'll find these in Stress Level Zero's offices), you can use it to pass through one of these walls. This will lead you to a room connected to the Lab, but it's actually located underneath MythOS City's District 05. The purpose of the second hand-drawn door is still a mystery.
