Unlocking New Avatars

Learn how to unlock new avatars in BoneLab! This guide breaks down the steps for accessing the Bodymall and customizing your character's appearance.

Alright, let's talk about getting you some fresh looks in BoneLab! The BONELAB Hub, also called the Special Projects Area, is your main hangout spot and the gateway to all the game's modes. It's where you'll find the Bodymall to swap out your avatar and really start customizing your character.

When you first arrive in the Hub after escaping the Conceptual Isolation Chamber, you'll notice a bulletin board. This board points you towards three initial modules you need to explore. Once you've tackled those, keep an eye out for glowing pillars of light appearing above them – these mark where the energy cores have spawned.

Unlocking the Left Side:

After exploring those first three modules, you'll see boxes with energy cores pop up, creating those light pillars. Your next move is to head to the control room. Inside, you'll get to pilot a BOSSCLAW. You'll have a lever to extend and retract it, plus controls to move it forward and side-to-side along its tracks. There's also a button to toggle the BOSSCLAW's magnetic gravity field. Your mission here is to use the minimap to guide the BOSSCLAW to those energy cores. Activate the gravity field when you're close, and the cores will snap right onto the BOSSCLAW. Then, you just need to bring them over to one of the six tubes flanking the control room. They'll automatically attach when you're near. Get three energy cores into their pipes, and you'll unlock the massive quarantine airlock to the right of the control room.

Unlocking the Right Side:

Once you've progressed further in the game and find yourself back in the Hub, it's time to unlock the rest. You'll need to explore the remaining modules and collect their cores, just like before. After all six energy cores are slotted into their pipes, the BONEWORKS door on the right side of the control area will finally open up for you.

Hidden Room:

If you're feeling adventurous, you can explore the metal vents beneath the lab. Follow the corridors, and you'll find a couple of walls with hand-drawn doors. If you've found one of the keycards from Stress Level Zero's offices, you can use it to pass through one of these walls. This will lead you to a room that's connected to the Lab but is actually located beneath District 05 of MythOS City. The purpose of the second hand-drawn door is still a bit of a mystery!
