This walkthrough will guide you through the mission's objectives and key strategies.

This mission emphasizes the GLA's guerilla tactics and reliance on speed and overwhelming numbers. You'll need to manage your resources effectively, utilize your unique units, and overcome GDI's superior technology to achieve victory.

Mission Objectives

Your primary objectives in "The Fall of Cairo" are:

1. Destroy GDI Command Center: The ultimate goal is to eliminate the GDI's central command structure within Cairo.
2. Capture Key Buildings: You will need to capture specific GDI buildings to gain access to new areas or technologies. These often include Power Plants and Refineries.
3. Eliminate GDI Forces: Clear out GDI resistance throughout the city.

Starting Forces and Base Setup

You begin with a small force and a basic GLA base. Your initial setup should focus on:

• Construction Yard: Immediately start building a second Construction Yard to speed up production and base expansion.
• Barracks: Produce Rebel infantry and Terrorists to form your initial assault force.
• War Factory: Build Scorpion Tanks for anti-infantry and anti-structure capabilities.
• Power Plants: Ensure you have sufficient power for your structures.

Key Strategies and Unit Usage

• Rebel Infantry: These are cheap and effective against infantry and light vehicles. Use them to swarm GDI defenses and capture buildings.
• Terrorists: Your suicide units. They are devastating against vehicles and structures. Use them strategically to take down key GDI defenses or Harvesters.
• Scorpion Tanks: Your main armored force. They are good all-rounders but can be vulnerable to anti-tank infantry.
• Technical Trucks: Fast and armed with a machine gun, they are excellent for harassing GDI Harvesters and providing mobile fire support.
• Guerilla Tactics: Utilize hit-and-run tactics. Attack GDI positions with overwhelming force, then retreat to repair and rebuild before launching another assault.

Walkthrough Steps

1. Initial Assault: Use your starting Rebels and Terrorists to push north towards the first GDI outpost. Destroy their Power Plant and Barracks.
2. Capture the Refinery: Advance towards the GDI Refinery. Use Rebels to capture it, securing a vital income source. Be prepared for GDI reinforcements.
3. Push into the City: With your expanded base and income, build more Scorpion Tanks and Technicals. Push deeper into Cairo, clearing out GDI patrols and capturing more buildings.
4. Deal with GDI Defenses: GDI will deploy Guardian Cannons and Pitbulls. Use Scorpion Tanks to engage Pitbulls and Terrorists or concentrated Scorpion fire to take down Guardian Cannons.
5. The Command Center: The GDI Command Center is heavily defended. Use a combination of Scorpion Tanks, Technicals, and Terrorists to breach its defenses. Ensure your units are repaired and ready for the final push.
6. Final Objective: Once the Command Center is destroyed, the mission is complete.

Tips for Success

• Resource Management: Keep your Refineries running and constantly produce units.
• Unit Production: Don't let your production facilities sit idle. Always be building units.
• Scouting: Use Technicals to scout ahead and identify GDI defenses.
• Exploit Weaknesses: GDI relies on technology. Use your cheaper, more numerous units to overwhelm their defenses.
