In "The Assault on Moscow," you'll lead the Allied forces in a daring operation to cripple the Soviet war machine by attacking their capital. This walkthrough will guide you through the mission's objectives and key strategies.

Mission 6, "The Assault on Moscow," presents a challenging scenario where you must infiltrate and destroy key Soviet installations within the heavily defended capital city. This mission emphasizes combined arms tactics, careful unit management, and exploiting Soviet weaknesses. Success requires a well-coordinated assault and strategic use of your available forces.

Mission Objectives

Your primary objectives in "The Assault on Moscow" are:

1. Destroy the Soviet Power Plants: Cripple Soviet infrastructure by taking out their power sources.
2. Destroy the Soviet War Factory: Prevent the Soviets from producing more tanks and vehicles.
3. Destroy the Soviet Barracks: Eliminate their infantry production.
4. Destroy the Soviet Command Center: The ultimate objective is to dismantle their command structure.

Starting Forces and Base Setup

You begin with a small Allied base and a limited number of units. Your initial focus should be on establishing a stable economy and defensive perimeter:

• Construction Yard: Immediately begin building a second Construction Yard to speed up base expansion and production.
• Ore Refinery: Ensure your Ore Miner is actively harvesting Ore to fund your operations. Build a second Refinery if possible.
• Power Plants: Construct enough Power Plants to support your growing base.
• Barracks: Produce Riflemen and Engineers. Riflemen are good against infantry, while Engineers are crucial for capturing Soviet structures.
• War Factory: Build Grizzly Tanks for your primary armored force.

Key Strategies and Unit Usage

• Engineers: These units are vital for capturing Soviet buildings. Use them to take over Power Plants, War Factories, and Barracks to gain an economic and production advantage.
• Grizzly Tanks: Your workhorse tank. Effective against most Soviet ground units, but vulnerable to heavy armor and anti-tank infantry.
• Riflemen: Good for clearing out infantry and defending your base. They can also capture buildings if an Engineer is unavailable or lost.
• Mammoth Tanks: If you can research them, Mammoth Tanks are incredibly powerful and can turn the tide of battle.
• Chronosphere (if available): If you have access to the Chronosphere, it can be used for tactical teleportation of units to bypass defenses or launch surprise attacks.
• Combined Arms: Use a mix of infantry, tanks, and potentially aircraft (if available) to counter different Soviet threats.

Walkthrough Steps

1. Initial Defense and Expansion: Defend your base from early Soviet attacks. Build up your economy and produce a few Grizzly Tanks and Riflemen.
2. First Objective - Power Plants: Push towards the Soviet Power Plants located to the north-east. Use your Grizzly Tanks to engage Soviet tanks and Riflemen to clear infantry. Use Engineers to capture the Power Plants.
3. Second Objective - War Factory: Advance towards the Soviet War Factory. This area will likely be more heavily defended. Use your growing army of Grizzly Tanks and any captured Soviet tanks to break through. Capture the War Factory with Engineers.
4. Third Objective - Barracks: The Soviet Barracks is usually located near their main base. Continue to push with your combined arms force. Capture the Barracks.
5. Final Objective - Command Center: The Soviet Command Center is the final target. It will be heavily guarded by tanks, infantry, and possibly defensive structures. Use your most powerful units, including any captured Soviet structures' production, to overwhelm the defenses and destroy the Command Center.

Tips for Success

• Prioritize Engineers: Protect your Engineers at all costs. Capturing buildings is your fastest route to victory.
• Scout Ahead: Use fast units or infantry to scout Soviet positions and identify threats before committing your main force.
• Repair Your Tanks: Use the Refinery or Repair Bay to keep your Grizzly Tanks in fighting condition.
• Adapt to Soviet Units: Be aware of Soviet units like the V3 Rocket Launcher and Apocalypse Tank, and adjust your unit composition accordingly.
