Welcome to Mission 2 of the Allied campaign in Command & Conquer Remastered Collection: 'The Eastern Front.' Following the initial skirmishes, your objective is to push deeper into Soviet territory and secure vital strategic locations. This mission introduces new challenges and enemy units, requiring a more coordinated approach to base building and offensive maneuvers. Prepare to face the formidable might of the Soviet Union as you advance across the war-torn landscape.

Your mission begins with a small contingent of GDI forces. Your initial task is to establish a base of operations and begin harvesting Tiberium. You'll start with a Construction Yard, a few Riflemen, and a Harvester. The map features several Tiberium fields, so your first priority should be to construct a Refinery and begin gathering resources. Simultaneously, build a Power Plant to ensure your base has adequate power. The Soviets will likely launch probing attacks early on, so constructing a few Turrets or a Guard Tower near your base perimeter is advisable.

Mission Objectives:

1. Establish a Base: Construct a Refinery and a Power Plant.
2. Defend Against Soviet Attacks: Build defensive structures to protect your base.
3. Destroy the Soviet Power Plant: This is your primary offensive objective.
4. Destroy the Soviet Barracks: Eliminate their ability to produce infantry.
5. Destroy the Soviet War Factory: Cripple their vehicle production.

As you expand your base, focus on building a Barracks to produce more Riflemen and an Engineer to capture any neutral structures or enemy buildings that become vulnerable. The Soviets will deploy various units, including Conscripts, Attack Dogs, and early-model tanks like the V2 Rocket Launcher. Your Riflemen will be effective against infantry and dogs, but you'll need heavier units to counter their armor.

Strategic considerations:

• Tiberium Harvesting: Prioritize building a second Harvester and potentially a second Refinery if a rich Tiberium field is accessible and defensible.
• Unit Production: Once your economy is stable, build a War Factory. Your first priority should be Minecarts for Tiberium transport, followed by APCs to transport Riflemen, and then Mammoths or other heavy tanks for offensive pushes.
• Base Defense: Position your Turrets strategically to cover approaches to your base and your Tiberium Harvesters. Consider building a SAM Turret if you encounter Soviet Hind helicopters.
• Scouting: Use your initial units or a fast scout vehicle to explore the map and identify the location of Soviet bases and key objectives.

The main Soviet base is located to the north of your starting position. It is heavily defended with Power Plants, a Barracks, a War Factory, and likely several defensive emplacements. Your strategy should involve building a strong offensive force, including Mammoths or a combination of APCs filled with Riflemen and Tanks. A coordinated assault, focusing fire on their Power Plant first to disable their defenses, followed by their Barracks and War Factory, will lead to victory. Remember to keep your Harvesters safe and continue expanding your economy throughout the mission to maintain a steady stream of reinforcements.
